How to Secure Medical Data
Onsite
Your medical backup data is encrypted BEFORE it's sent from your offices or remote locations to Proven Backup. You choose your own secure encryption key (known only to the organization/user installing our software).
Offsite
Our medical records management facilities in NJ and Arizona are kept under strict environmental controls (temperature, humidity, fire), have redundant power supplies, are secure facilities (key cards, guards, surveillance), have 24 hour data monitoring, and super fast fiber optic connections from Tier1 service providers.
What is encryption?
Encryption is the conversion of data into a form, called a cipher text, which cannot be understood by unauthorized people. Decryption is the process of converting cipher text back into its original form, so it can be understood. A private secure encryption key is used to decode it.
What is an encryption key?
An alphanumeric word, phrase or numerical code chosen and held by you to ensure your privacy, security and the integrity of your files. Therefore lost encryption keys can't be retrieved since they are unknown to us. (Proven Backup will not be privy to this key and it must be kept secure by you and your officers.)
Can Proven Backup access your files?
No, the encryption prevents us from viewing your files. Your content would look like a bunch of 1s and 0s to us.
